Funky Frets Uke Fest Comments

Looking through the comments and seeing the people makes it so personal. I feel like these ukers are personal friends and look forward to the next time we can be together sharing whatever we can share together. Our organizers Curt, Bernadette and Kelly made it special for each one of us and having the children around made it a family happening. Look forward to the next time we can have brain overload.

I attend many festivals, however, this is the cream of the crop, the ukers, entertainers, workshops, the food.....I could go on, it is like being at a family reunion that you want to go to. Still on a high and can't stop talking about the enjoyment. Special kudos to Curt and family for all their hard work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. - Kathleen Helenius

Holy Moly. The Funky Frets Uke Fest was always a great time, but 2017 just blew the lid off uke fests! World-class entertainment. An incredibly fun time. Plus the train ride strum! While always novel and cool, today's ride rocked! (A+ for the added sound system.) Folks who didn't have the good fortune to experience this uke fest will have no idea what they missed (thinking they missed "just a uke fest.") Thank Yous to the performers who stole our breaths and hearts. And to the Sheller family & volunteers for pulling off such a feat. I'm on a marvelous uke high. Been to quite a few Ukulele festivals in my time and they all have their own flavor and fun. Usually there are a few things to vent about, especially when it's a First time ukefest..... I find myself in a position I have rarely been in. I have nothing, nothing, to vent about!! No, my facebook has not been hacked! This is me! Julie will verify! I hope everyone else enjoyed the 1st Annual Funky Frets Uke Fest as much as I did. Thanks to Curt Sheller, Bernadette, Kelly, and all the staff that I don't know by name, that worked so hard to make this such an incredible event. It was truly a pleasure to be taught by all the amazing performers/instructors and very inspiring to see what they can do with four strings. I met and played with some awesome folks as well as getting to see good friends there. I feel sorry for anyone who couldn't make it, but hopefully next year. – sciarroc
